The first thing I noticed when I came onto this site is the text at the top saying “A List Apart”. I was confused at first because I couldn’t read it right away. I had to focus on it more since it was cropped on the page. It doesn’t seem to be that important of a part on the site and it draws too much attention away from the rest of the page. The pacing of the page is very well done. The different sections of the text is very noticeable and easy to follow. I also would like for the navigation bar to be larger. It is very thin at the top and isn’t that easy to find. His site seems to be pretty responsive when switching between computer, laptop, and phone except for one detail. It is another issue with the words “A List Apart” at the top. As the screen gets smaller the designer doesn’t adjust the words to shrink with it. It gets cut off and doesn’t even scroll over. I do like the fact that the designer chose a different photo for the top of the page as the screen gets smaller. The people in the photo are rearranged into a taller and slimmer position.

One thing that bothers me with this website is the fact that there isn’t a navigation or something at the top that makes it feel like the website is being introduced. It feels like the viewer is thrown into the website and it is very indimidating. The responsiveness of the site works very well. There isn’t a comprehension issue. The only thing about it is that the site doesn’t change much at all. I feel like there should be a little bit of a compositional change in the phone display that differentiates it from the laptop display.
