Moes

I enjoy the new Moe’s logo. I like the more modern approach they took with it compared to their older logo. The Color pallet is more cohesive, and I like the geometry in this logo.

LG

I like the LG logo. I always saw this growing up and just thought it was a funny looking face. I later learned that the ‘L’ and the ‘G’ are in that face. I think it is a clever way to incorporate their name and it leaves a lasting impression.

Tour de France

I love the Tour de France logo. I think the type face is playful and the use of the biker as the ‘R’ is very clever. It is very recognizable the bright yellow with the black makes it stand out.

Unsuccessful

Lays

This logo is very strange to me. It kind of looks like the babybel cheese logo and that thrown me off. The choice of font and the placement of the font is not appealing. I don’t like how only the bottom of the ‘y’ and the top of the apostrophe intersect the red section. I also don’t like the slightly darker yellow outline around the circle.

Starbucks

The starbucks logo does not make sense with its branding. It seems to be a mermaid within a circle holding its tails up. It is very confusing when looking at it without any context. It is very recognizable as a starbucks logo when you know the company, but I’m not sure that is practical for the company. I especially don’t like the logo with “Starbucks Coffee” around the mermaid. The white stroke on the inside and outside of the circle isn’t original and I feel like it gives it a generic feel.

IHOP

This logo is a little disturbing to me. I recognize that they are using the ‘O’ and the ‘P’ as eyes in a smiles and added a red curve to be the mouth. Instead of being clever it is a bit unnerving. I feel like it would be more successful without that curve.
